As part of a short-term innovation initiative, I worked with Infusion to explore future-facing ways SunTrust could evolve its presence within local communities while maintaining its focus on human connection.
The brief: imagine interactive tools that connect employees, customers, and community members — making each branch a local hub centered around people.
Key contributions included:
• Researched emerging technologies for public and community engagement
• Brainstormed ideas for integrating interactive tools into branch and retail environments
• Co-developed a prototype concept called the Sunwall — a dynamic digital community board
• Designed and refined multiple concept directions, narrowing to three final ideas
• Explored opportunities for integration within existing supermarket locations tied to SunTrust’s footprint
Moodboard (inspiration)
Research— Personal, connected to, and engaged with communities. Anticipate customer needs with experiences that are easy to engage in, delightful and sometimes surprising.
IDEA #1: Humanize the bulletproof glass, and personalize tellers' screens with their names, languages spoken, and community ties. ‘Teammates’ tweet their successes.
IDEA #2: Facilitate community art installations that connect people. Support innovative ideas that further community dynamics through interactivity and engagement.
IDEA #3: Interactive Community Board that lives inside SunTrust bank branches as both a wall and tablet touchscreen interface /app for customers to use while waiting.
The goal was to create a range of playful content featuring: banking tips, and current and upcoming community activities while offering opportunities to interact with bank personnel.
