—Air Canada is our International airline. Undergoing a major redesign of all digital assets, they split the work across agencies. I worked under contract for two of them. They were not competing and my role helped integrate the process at the time. My role (@ JWT) was Art direction/UX/Design for the marketing content on aircanada.com. Sections included: Maple Leaf Lounge, Cabins, In-flight Entertainment, Duty-Free, and Altitude.
From March to July, I worked under contract at JWT. While there, my tasks included:
• Researched competitors
• Defined main customer issues with the existing website (with the team)
• Brainstormed ideas for interesting and useful content additions (with the team)
• UX and UI design for 5 marketing sections of aircanada.com (consolidating relevant content areas)
• Presented, designed, and sold concepts to Air Canada
• Integrated (rich) content: Tooltips, Google Streetview 360’s, interactive videos, program guides, defined animation styles, and sharable content
• Built photoshop templates with base elements, defined guides, and grids for other designers to use
• Searched AC image database and defined usage and placement specs
• Compiled, designed, and wrote presentations
• Unfortunately, as a freelancer you don’t always get to see through to launch. At the end of my extended contract, I packaged the files and sent them to the development team
"Anika was responsible for the UX of the pages we were designing, as well as the conceptualization and design of the pages themselves. She is well-rounded and an extremely likable problem solver. Anika's seniority as a Creative Director allowed her to take on UX responsibilities as well. From a purely technical perspective, Anika understands the platforms she worked with and was able to problem solve UX issues around them. Anika will completely impress whoever she works for and they will not want her to leave."
